Margaret Goebel, IBCLC, RLC
Margaret Goebel has been married for 35 years. Margaret and her husband,
Steve, have three grown daughters and three grandchildren. Margaret's family
is a source of great joy to her.

Margaret nursed her first daughter, but encountered several bumps along the
way. It was when she was pregnant with twins that she decided she needed
help to avoid the problems encountered with her first child. She attended
La Leche League meetings before the twin girls were born and learned
enough to successfully breastfeed them for quite awhile. The mother to mother
help was very beneficial and inspired Margaret to associate with
LLL as a
leader for many years.

Margaret was a stay-at-home mother while she raised her daughters. She
finished college and graduate school and worked once the girls were away at
school. Her search for a meaningful career brought her back to the field of
lactation.

Margaret has a desire to help mothers breastfeed their babies and overcome
the problems that are often present in the postpartum days. Margaret is an
IBCLC and will complete the UCSD Ext. Lactation Consultant program in May,
2006. She has spent countless hours studying about lactation- a subject that is
never boring to her. She has been able to combine her personal experience of
nursing her own children, with the intense study of the science of lactation.
This combination of the personal and professional will be used in the service of
mothers who come to her for lactation consultations.

Margaret adds," I am looking forward to helping moms have a wonderful
experience breastfeeding their babies. It is one of my fondest memories of my
children, and I would love to help other moms create special memories with
their little ones."
